January 10, 2021 - Thanks to a very generous donor in the United States and the shared fundraising efforts of the Nambale Magnet School and its community, a school bus for the Nambale Magnet School became a reality! The school bus was delivered during the recent re-opening of the school and it is a great source of pride for the Nambale Magnet School and its community.
As the Nambale Magnet School grew year after year, it became more and more evident that a school bus was necessary. Previously, if a child was sick, he or she would be transported to a nearby clinic on a bicycle taxi or motorcycle. This is far from safe or ideal for a sick or injured student or staff member.
A school bus will also assist in taking children to inter school sporting events, community outreach and field trips. It is hard to imagine in this country the importance of a school bus but in Nambale, this was cause for a school and community wide celebration!
This generous gift was given as part of our 2019 10-year anniversary celebration and fundraiser but its arrival was delayed due to the challenges associated with COVID.
