Every year since the Nambale Magnet School has grown to the 8th grade it has consistently had the top scores of the region, outperforming itself every year.
In 2016 the first Nambale Magnet School 8th grade class graduated which was consisted of children who had been with school since the very beginning. The first class did very well on the national exam and several learners went on to some of the best high schools in the country.Last year, the 2017 class of "Record Crushers" posted even better exam results with a positive deviation of 3.61% and we were able to find High School scholarships for all our learners.
This year, the top three test scores all came from students of the Nambale Magnet School. Not only did the NMS learners and teachers outperform the class of 2017 “Record Crushers”, the school has earned the number one position in all of Busia County in overall test score results! The future looks bright for this incredible class of learners.
Here is what school founder Evalyn Wakhusama had to say about the accomplishment:
"They did it AGAIN, we did it AGAIN, This is the great effort from The students,Their respective Subject teachers,The management and staff.
We are proud and happy to Announce that we excelled, and our candidates made us proud, our top learner scoring 430 marks ,our second scoring 429 marks and our third learner scoring 428 we wish to congratulate the whole class for the impressive results,we also managed a mean score of 379,we were visited by the press and also featured in Standard Newspaper.
It’s important to work hard, stay humble, and not let the criticism or the compliments go to your head.
Our top candidate who scored 430 marks Jackob Ong’aria is one of the many OVC (orphan vulnerable child) under our wings of sponsorship, we are very happy for him and we are dedicated and committed to improving his education life further."
Meanwhile Congratulations to the 2018 candidates for their outstanding performance,we will still reach out to the OVC’s and we shall still sponsor them.
We are very proud of the performance and character of these fine students. Doing well on these exams offers our students so many options in terms of continuing their education and uplifting their community out of poverty to sustainability. Our formula is working!
It is safe to say the students and staff are to be commended for their hard work and preparation for this exam. Striving for excellence is what the Nambale Magnet School prides itself in every day.
