January 1, 2020 - The hard work in preparing for the 8th grade exam has paid off once again with the Nambale Magnet School's test scores still among the top of the entire Busia County.
This track record of excellence has done a lot to boost the children's self-confidence and goals for the future. The National 8th grade test determines the future of all Kenyan children's future education.
With good scores, these children can go on to good high schools and higher learning. The Nambale Magnet School has managed to place all of the vulnerable student population into private high schools through donations here in the US. The commitment to these children does not end at the eighth grade level.
Two of NMS's earliest eighth grade graduates are now seniors at the Light Academy in Nairobi, one of Kenya's finest High Schools. Jackson, one of these students, was chosen from hundreds of candidates in countries all over the world to come to the United States to attend a Yale University sponsored talented and gifted youth leadership conference in the summer of 2020.
The children of the Nambale Magnet School are being given the tools to be able to compete in a global society and the heart to come back and encourage other students to have confidence in their futures.
