From the Ashes: A New Building Emerges!

November 2, 2022 - As many will recall, shortly after the school reopened from its COVID closure, the Nambale Magnet School suffered a devasting fire that destroyed the boy’s dorm that housed 150 students. Mercifully, no one was hurt, and our generous supporters sprang into action to assist in the triage and support the rebuilding of the wing.

Currently the boys are sleeping in classroom space and things are tight, but the new wing will enable them to have a home and additional classroom space that NMS desperately needs. The new wing is under construction and will soon bring relief to the shortage of both beds and classroom space.

Additionally, the science lab started just before the COVID pandemic is now complete and starting to be furnished with supplies thanks to the Cornerstone Project’s Fall festival fund raiser held on October 5th 2022 (See the article on the fund raiser). Science and technology are major components to the Kenyan new curriculum concentration. The Fall Festival held at the Hopkins Vineyard in Warren Connecticut was successful in providing funds for both endeavors. Anyone interested in donating to computers and science equipment, please the donate button and designate your donation. The donation then be designated in your honor.

Education is the great equalizer. This is a game changer for so many of the children of the school and indeed, of the entire community. The Nambale Magnet School continues to come back bigger and better with whatever comes its way. Be a part of this important work. The generous help of people like you make all of this happen!
