Autumn Celebration Benefits Nambale Magnet School Plans
September 25, 2019 - by Veronika Jelenik - The Voices - NEW PRESTON, CT - The Cornerstone Project, a grassroots nonprofit that works to provide education to vulnerable children, will host its third annual Autumn Celebration to benefit the Nambale Magnet School from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, October 3, at Hopkins Vineyard, 25 Hopkins Rd. Sat Nam Foundation Provides Solar Enery for School
September 6, 2019 - A group representing the Sat Nam Foundation performed a week of fellowship and service at NMS. Through their fund raising efforts, they were able to raise enough to supply the school with a solar energy system that will be constructed in early 2020. This is an ecological win and will bring operating costs down significantly while offering a more reliable source of electricity ... [ more ]
Celebrating 10 Years!
It's the School's 10 year anniversary and the event was commemorated by a walk through the streets of Nambale. This event was designed to involve the community, spread good will, and allow the students to show their school spirit as they have ranked #1 again, this time for the entire Busia County! [ more ]
Friends of Football International Sports Equipment Grant
June 15, 2019 - The Friends of Football International granted the Nambale Magnet School the gift of new sports equipment for the students. The sports equipment was presented during sports day and was extremely well received. Outdoor activities are an integral part of the School's daily activities. [ more ]
Cornerstone Project 2018 | A Year in Review
January 24, 2019 - It was our most successful year in terms of fundraising to date raising over $228,000 towards the Nambale Magnet School. Thanks to the approval of a long awaited sanitation grant from Rotary International including a full cycle water system and waste to fuel biodigester. [ more ]
Third 8th Grade Class Graduates with Flying Colors!

My Trip to the Nambale Magnet School in Western Kenya
July 2, 2018 - In May I made a trip to the Nambale Magnet School with two teaching interns, Lizzie and Colleen. It was a pleasure to see the school in action and to see how happy and motivated the children seemed to be. The school bustled with activity and the teachers and staff had everything well in hand. New Sewing Lab, More Sustainability for the School
August 16, 2017 - With the generous donation of sewing machines, a sewing lab has been added to the Nambale Magnet School. Now instead of purchasing mosquito nets for beds and uniforms, the school has the capability of making their own. As with the farm, the sewing lab also offers the children an additional learning opportunity. A plan is set in motion to offer sewing lessons to the curriculum for those who are interested. [ more ]
NMS Students Go on a Field Trip to Mbita Point, Kenya
August 2, 2017 - Each year a field trip is planned that widens the children's worldview. This year the children took a trip to the nearest populated area, the town of Mbita Point on the shore of Lake Victoria. While there, they visited another school, an insect research center and a mausoleum of a very historic Kenyan figure. [ more ]
Sports Day 2017 at the Nambale Magnet School
July 26, 2017 - Once a year, the Nambale Magnet School has a tradition of holding a sports day for the learners on either the last Saturday of June or first Saturday of July. Nambale Magnet School’s Top Graduating Students in High School
July 6, 2017 - Some of our recent graduates are now in High School busy doing amazing things. Alpha and Jackson in the same school and were our top two learners in last year's KCPE results. Both Alpha and Jackson are doing very well. Alpha recently attended a mentoring program for a week organized by the First Lady in Kenya.
